We work with schools to help students develop skills to thrive in and out of the classroom

Our Alternative Education Provision (AEP) programme is for schools, and is designed specifically for young people who find mainstream education challenging. We help these young people re- engage with education. We equip them with strategies to deal with emotional-based school avoidance and anxiety, so they can return to the classroom securely with the skills they need to succeed.

The 12-week programme is a blend of physical activity and therapeutic talk time. Students can also work towards a Boxercise award. Our sessions build confidence, self-esteem, resilience, and addresses negative behaviours. They are tailored to enable students to develop their social, emotional, and physical wellbeing.

Our AEP Programmes

Delivery is typically one-to-one work, but we also offer small group sessions. Each session lasts 1.5 to 2 hours and ensures a balance of physical and therapeutic activities. Sessions can be delivered directly on your school premises or at our Peterborough gym.

Our AEP programme has been created by our inhouse BACP-registered psychotherapist, who can also provide one-to-one support where necessary.

READ ABOUT OUR AEP PROGRAMME

CT first came to us in June 2024…

CT was referred to Boxing Futures by his school as he was struggling in the classroom. The 14-year-old has had a difficult childhood and now lives in small residential children’s home in Cambridgeshire. He sees his mother occasionally.

When CT first came to us in June 2024, he had so much anger in him. He was unable to express this safely and had broken windows and doors at the home. He later told us that he has trouble trusting adults.

After 12 sessions with Boxing Futures, CT has grown to trust his coach. He has opened up and says he finds it difficult to adjust to his new life in the home. He is also struggling to make friends in his new school.

Despite this, he always arrives at our sessions on time, and is eager to learn. He is polite and respectful to our staff. He enjoys the programme and his fitness has improved. With newfound confidence, he has taken a big step and joined a local football team. He hopes to build friendships with other young people of his own age who have an interest in sport and exercise.

CT will continue with Boxing Futures, building on the positive changes he’s already made to his lifestyle and behaviour.
